Georgian Cranes Service Group Boosts Stock of Tower Cranes, Freight Elevators in 2025

To meet an increasing demand for reliable and efficient machinery in the domestic construction sector, Georgian Cranes Service Group is expanding its stock of new tower cranes and freight elevators. The company intends to offer competitive leasing and purchasing options, ensuring that construction companies have access to the latest technology, without the drawbacks associated with older models.

“The construction sector has experienced a growing demand for tower cranes. However, the market is currently saturated with very old second-hand cranes. The costs associated with their operation, repair, and management can be prohibitively high for construction companies,”  Vakhtang Tediashvili, CEO of GCSG told Golden Brand.

“Additionally, finding specific parts for these old cranes – especially their engines and slewing mechanisms – can be nearly impossible in the second-hand parts market. Our experience shows that the total expenses related to purchasing and repairing an old crane during a construction project often equal the cost of purchasing a new crane.”

“We anticipate that 2025 will be an active year in this area, and we plan to increase our supply of new tower cranes and freight elevators in the construction sector, offering the best terms for both leasing and purchasing.”

With 25 years of experience in providing tower crane services, GCSG is committed to excellence in every project and ensuring success for its customers.

Q. Georgian Cranes Service Group became the regional representative of Chinese ZTM Tower Cranes company last year. How would you summarize this cooperation?

A. Since 2024 we have been actively expanding our services. Currently we provide both technical and planned services for tower cranes to 37 construction companies. GCSG has also been importing new tower cranes and freight elevators as part of our regional representation of the ZTM firm. These cranes are already in use at construction sites in the Black Sea resort city of Batumi and the western city of Kutaisi.

Our experience has shown that this specific brand of crane and elevator not only meets the demands of complex construction tasks but also features protection systems that safeguard against unforeseen events during operation. Due to positive feedback from our customers, there has been a significant increase in demand for these cranes and elevators, leading to a rise in orders.

This year we are offering eight new cranes and five freight elevators for sale and lease. We provide Georgian construction companies with modern, next-generation cranes and elevators tailored to their project needs, along with the best payment terms available.

Q. Are there plans for similar collaborations with other manufacturers? What is the current portfolio of the company, and how is the demand for its services evolving?

A. In recent years the construction sector has experienced significant growth, leading to an increased demand for tower crane services. 12,080 permits were issued in Georgia in 2024, reflecting a 7.1% increase from the previous year. This surge in activity prompted us to introduce late-model tower cranes and construction elevators to the industry through our representation.

We have also established active partnerships with tower crane part makers, whose quality we have thoroughly evaluated and found satisfactory. Currently we provide planned supervision for tower cranes to 37 companies, which has increased demand for our services.

Within 24 hours of receiving a notification, we can identify crane malfunctions on-site and work on rapid repairs to ensure that construction processes remain uninterrupted. We understand that each day of downtime can incur significant costs for builders. Additionally, we have created an extensive database of tower crane parts and components, streamlining and expediting our maintenance procedures.

Q. What factors should developers and construction companies consider when renting a tower crane?

A. Tower cranes and construction elevators are significant investments on construction sites, requiring constant and correct maintenance. Our team offers free consultations to help construction companies make informed decisions on whether to rent or buy a crane.

Lessees should have a clear project in mind and determine the crane’s specifications. Key costs to consider include monthly lease payments (if renting), transportation, installation, and required technical inspections. It’s also important to factor in supervision and repair costs.

To meet rising demand, we offer two service packages: the Technical Service Package for companies that own cranes and seek to ensure their smooth operation, and the Premium Service Package, which has seen a 45% increase in demand for those in need of quick resolution of service issues. We’re here to support you in making the best choice for your construction projects.

Q. How profitable is this business?

A. Achieving success in the crane operation field is challenging, requiring both practical experience and theoretical knowledge. Understanding technical specifications, terrain, and building structures is crucial for informed decision-making. Over 27 years of experience I’ve witnessed how costly equipment is often handled by non-professionals, which can lead to significant issues.

When operated by a skilled professional, tower cranes usually run smoothly. But minor problems often go unaddressed until they become major issues, resulting in costly downtime. Our service addresses these challenges – just one call or message and our team is on-site to help.

Investing in a new tower crane minimizes construction costs if operated correctly, while older cranes can lead to frequent repairs and complications. It’s essential to thoroughly evaluate your options during the purchasing process. Always choose a responsible and reliable company to ensure your investment is worthwhile.

Q. What are the prices for your service packages?

A. Determining fixed prices for construction projects is challenging because each project is unique and requires cranes with different specifications. From our observations of other Chinese cranes, we have found that prices for new cranes from ZTM are unbeatable when considering the quality of their engines, metal construction, and original electrical systems. These cranes, known as new generation Intelligent Tower Cranes, come equipped with the latest branded inverter systems, remote controls, air conditioning, and advanced SIEMENS control and ABB electrical systems. Additionally, the freight elevators boast a galvanized metal structure and are equipped with new VEICHI electrical systems and SAJ40 safety systems.

Currently, the monthly leasing prices for these cranes range from 10,000 to 25,000 GEL. Our tower cranes, available for lease or purchase, are of the highest quality. They feature safety platforms on all sections, various modern protection systems, and most importantly, they come with ISO and CE certificates that comply with European standards.
