Experience the Essence of Georgia with Château Svanidze’s Premium Wines

Château Svanidze Wines Take Center Stage at the Golden Brand Awards

Château Svanidze, a winemaking estate owned by the Svanidze family, has been producing high-quality wines for years at its magnificent location at the heart of the eastern Kakheti region overlooking the Caucasus Mountains.

Château Svanidze, an award-winning wine, is produced in limited quantities with a commitment to quality and attention to detail in grape harvesting and processing. The vines are cultivated while preserving the estate’s natural biodiversity. For several generations, the Svanidze family has been reviving the exceptional heritage of Georgian traditional winemaking and cultivating the Svanidze wine spirit, blending a timeless way of life with authenticity.

Château Svanidze wines are available in about 25 high-end restaurants and liquor stores in the United Kingdom, including Zuma, Nobu Hotel, Four Seasons, Hilton, Hyatt Regency, The Maine, STK, Gentlemen Baristas, and Los Mochis and more.

This year Château Svanidze co-hosted the prestigious Golden Brand Awards Ceremony, an esteemed event that recognizes excellence in business within Georgia. Their exceptional wines contributed to the festive atmosphere and enhanced the overall experience for attendees.

On this occasion we sat down with Giorgi Svanidze, the founder of the company, to discuss this partnership as well as the journey of Château Svanidze.

Q. Can you tell us about the history of Château Svanidze and how the estate has evolved over the years?

A. Château Svanidze, part of the Svanidze Holding group, is a premium wine brand rooted in family traditions. The Svanidze family has a long-standing reputation for producing the finest wine in the Kakheti region, dating back to ancient times. This ancestral tradition of tending vineyards and pressing grapes has been passed down through generations and continues today. Every year the harvest and grape pressing are a holiday for us. We create wines with joy and love. The drinker can feel this, and it gives the wine a unique energy. Wine made with love transmits these positive emotions to our consumers.

Q. Château Svanidze has been on the Georgian market for years, offering 12 different wines. Which is the best seller and favorite among customers?

A. Our collection includes six varieties of red wines, six varieties of white, and one variety of rosé. We also offer a classic line and an oak barrel-aged chacha.

Château Svanidze focuses on producing premium wines, resulting in a limited annual bottling volume, which is also influenced by the harvest year. Our specialty is the creation of exclusive reserve wines. Among our offerings, the best-selling white wines are Krakhuna and Rkatsiteli Qvevri, while the top-selling red wines are the classic Saperavi and Kindzmarauli.

Q. Your wines are available in several high-end restaurants and liquor stores across the UK. How do you select the establishments to partner with, and what kind of feedback have you received from customers?

A. Our British partners ensure that our wines are well represented in the English market, including premium restaurants and liquor stores such as Bagatelle, Zuma, Nobu Hotel, Four Seasons, Hilton, Hyatt Regency, The Maine, STK, Gentlemen Barista, and Los Mochis.

Regarding feedback, I can share quotes from several world-class British sommeliers and well-known personalities in the field: The Manager of Hedonism Wines at Mayfair remarked, “London is showcasing Château Svanidze’s flagship Red Mukuzani.” Wine Expert and Taste Specialist Christopher Cooper says, “We tasted Georgian white wines live at @talkradiouk in London yesterday. These were some highlights…”

Q. What challenges have you faced in the wine industry, particularly in maintaining quality while adapting to modern trends?

A. In recent years, Georgian winemaking has made significant advancements in both wine quality and technology. Our primary objective is not just to produce good wine, but to introduce unique varieties of Georgian wine to the world. This endeavor comes with great responsibility and is considered the main challenge of our company.

Q. As someone deeply involved in the winemaking process, what is your personal favorite wine from Château Svanidze, and why?

A. Each variety of wine evokes a special emotion in me, as I appreciate the love and effort that goes into its final preparation. There’s something about Mukuzani that words can’t quite capture. It’s not just a wine—it’s an experience. The moment you taste it, you feel compelled to tell someone, to pass on the richness of that first sip. It’s the kind of flavor that invites storytelling.

Q. Can you tell us about your collaboration with Golden Brand and how you feel about co-hosting this event?

A. We are honored to co-host this year’s awards ceremony. This collaboration means a lot to us, as Golden Brand symbolizes not only success within Georgia, but also embodies business ethics, innovation, and a strong commitment to social responsibility.

We believe this event will be a remarkable celebration of these values, and we’re particularly excited that Château Svanidze’s exquisite wines will be part of the evening. Their exceptional quality is sure to enhance the atmosphere, bringing joy and elevating the experience for everyone involved. Together, we look forward to creating a memorable event that inspires and uplifts our community.

Q. Are there any new projects or initiatives you are particularly excited about?

A. In the future we plan to build an innovative new factory and cultivate new grape varieties. We already have connections with renowned winemakers and grape growers who will collaborate with Georgian specialists to help us create wines that are better suited to the European and global markets.
