BRONKHOMAX, a flagship product of the multinational pharmaceutical company Europharma — present in Georgia since 2011 — has received the prestigious Golden Brand award in the “Antitussives” category.
Alisa Arslan, the Director of Europharma Georgia, credited the success of BRONKHOMAX to its high-quality formulation and pleasant taste. These features contribute to its rapid and lasting efficacy while minimizing side effects, helping BRONKHOMAX stand out in the market, providing quick relief for both dry and mixed-type coughs.
In an interview with Golden Brand, Arslan discussed Europharma Georgia and reviewed the success of BRONKHOMAX in the domestic market.
Q. Can you briefly introduce us to Europharma Georgia and its journey in the pharmaceutical industry?
A. Europharma Georgia was founded in 2011. Through analysis of the pharmaceutical market, alignment with the company’s goals and mission, and the adoption of the right strategic approach, we quickly established a respectable position in the Georgian pharmaceutical market.
Europharma entered the Georgian pharmaceutical market with just six products and a few employees; today the company offers more than forty pharmaceutical products to consumers, and the number of employees has also significantly increased. Among our products are exclusive formulations that have no equivalents available on the Georgian pharmaceutical market.
Europharma Georgia is committed to providing the Georgian population with internationally recognized quality standards in both preventive and therapeutic products.
Due to their effectiveness, three of our products have been included in state healthcare programs. Among them, Symbavit Syrup has already received a Golden Brand award.
Q. After 14 years of operation, can you say the company’s goal to identify customer requirements and offer unique, reliable, and innovative products has been reached?
A. Indeed, these 14 years have not been easy. During this period there were many challenges, one of the most significant being the pandemic. In addition, pharmaceutical legislation is constantly evolving, with the introduction of new regulations aimed at improving the quality of the pharmaceutical sector.
It is precisely due to my and my team’s attitude toward our work and our strong teamwork that we were able to turn challenges into opportunities.
At the same time, high-quality, reliable pharmaceutical products tailored to customer needs have driven Europharma Georgia’s success and recognition in the Georgian pharmaceutical market.
Q. Winning the Golden Brand Award is a significant achievement. Can you share what this recognition means for BRONKHOMAX and the team behind it? How does it feel to be recognized as the top antitussive provider in Georgia?
A. This is already the second Golden Brand award for our products. Of course, the Golden Brand is a very important, joyful, and proud achievement for our team.
Being recognized as number one in a highly competitive environment is both an honor and a meaningful validation for Europharma Georgia.
This award also places even greater responsibility on us and serves as a strong motivation to be even more beneficial to the people of Georgia.
Q. What do you believe the key factors that contributed to BRONKHOMAX earning this prestigious award are?
A. The main reason for BRONKHOMAX receiving the Golden Brand award is precisely its quality and the excellent composition of its formula, as well as its taste. Ultimately, all these factors contribute to the product’s fast and long-lasting effectiveness, along with the almost complete absence of side effects, which is very important for patients of all ages, especially children.
Q. What characteristics or unique features of BRONKHOMAX do you believe set it apart from other antitussive products?
A. First and foremost, BRONKHOMAX stands out from other products due to its rapid cough-suppressing effect, effective for both dry and mixed-type coughs.
Its safe and herbal composition is also an important factor.
Q. How have you seen the market for cough remedies evolve in Georgia over the past few years, and how has Europharma adapted to these changes?
A. As you know, the Georgian pharmaceutical market is saturated with cough remedies.
The relevance of such products increased seasonally and gained a significant niche during the pandemic.
Thanks to its unique composition, rapid action — reflected in the quick relief of symptoms — and its safety, BRONKHOMAX successfully withstood the competition, secured its place in the Georgian pharmaceutical market, and rightfully earned the Golden Brand award.
Q. What type of feedback have you received from healthcare professionals and consumers regarding BRONKHOMAX?
A. For me, both as a healthcare professional and as a consumer — in my role as a mother — it is important to choose pharmaceutical products with natural and plant-based ingredients to achieve maximum benefit, expressed through fast and maximum effectiveness.
It is also important to minimize side effects, which may occur only in cases of individual intolerance to specific components. I believe that practicing doctors and consumers share the same attitude toward any product. A satisfied customer is especially important to us.
The feedback we received from healthcare professionals and consumers was only positive, which was reflected in the popularity of BRONKHOMAX and its recognition as a Golden Brand.
Q. What challenges has Europharma faced as an importer and distributor in the pharmaceutical sector, and how have you overcome them?
A. Naturally, the pharmaceutical sector, like other fields in a competitive environment, is full of obstacles, challenges and constant new regulations. Since January 1, 2022, it has been mandatory in Georgia. for importers and distributors in the pharmaceutical market to comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards. This was fully welcomed by us, as importers, because we are required to ensure that our products meet international quality standards — that the manufacturing plant holds GMP and GLP certificates, has a high-level research and development center, and that the products undergo continuous quality control during the production process — all of which our products have met since the very first day of importation.
As distributors, we also meet distribution requirements under the GDP standard.
Thus, Europharma Georgia’s products follow a reliable, trustworthy, and fully internationally compliant path from production to patient.
Q. What are Europharma Georgia’s plans, particularly regarding BRONKHOMAX and other products in your portfolio?
A. Just as in the past 14 years since our founding, in the future as well we plan to continue supporting the pharmaceutical sector in accordance with the needs of the healthcare field, by introducing necessary and in-demand medicinal formulas to the Georgian pharmaceutical market.
